You can call me Mrs.Can you...

Some days I'm only a pair of hands nothing more..Can you fix this? Can you tie this? Can you open this? Can you wash this? Can you hold this?

It started to happen gradually...I would walk into the room and no one would notice. I would say something to my family, like, "Turn the TV down, please. And nothing would happen. Nobody would get up or even make a move for the remote. I would stand there for a minute, and then I would say a little louder, "Would someone turn the TV down?" Nothing. Finally, in frustration I would go over and turn it down myself.

One day I was walking my son Jake to school. I was holding his hand, and we were about to cross the street when the crossing guard said to him, "Who is that with you , young fella?" Nobody, he shrugged. Nobody. The crossing guard and I laughed. My son was only five, but as we crossed the street I thought, oh my goodness, nobody?

I'm invisible.

It all began to make sense- the blank stares, the lack of response, the way someone will walk into the room while I'm on the phone and asks to be taken to the store. Inside I'm thinking. Can't you see I'm on the phone? Obviously not. No one can see if I'm on the phone or cooking or sweeping the floor or even resting, because no one can see me at all.

I'm invisible.

My name is Charlotte Fisher, but does it even matter? Mostly I'm just Mom or Honey, the butter lady or the driver..Sometimes I'm Would you mind? or Whenever you get a minute..."I also go by "While you're up" or Since your going out anyway..."

Does any of this sound familiar to you ? Don't be faint of heart! There is a rainbow at the end of this pot of gold..or something like that lol..I was having a very hard day yesterday with the kids..so I went to my trusty bookshelf for some inspiration to snap me outta my funk..And I found this little pot 'o gold! The excerpt that you have read comes from this little book called The Invisible Woman- when only God sees.. by Nicole Johnson. I recommend this book to all mom's who feel invisible sometimes...It is a great look into what God has called us to do as mothers to our kids. We are building the future generation here people! And Nicole has received great insight into what all this means. I get discouraged sometimes as a mom, and now that I have teens I know that I didn't even know how to pray before now! lol Please check out this book you will cry, laugh and be encouraged I promise! Let me know how it goes! Thanks for stopping by love ya mean it! Stephanie
