love dare. day 27. love encourages...

I am loving this! Ladies, thank you for sharing your experiences with us! Julie..you have very wise words that are really true..we are being changed for the better! Day 27
Guard me soul and deliver me; do not let me be ashamed, for I take refuge in you.-Psalm 25:20
Love encourages
Today's dare
Eliminate the poison of unrealistic expectations in your home. Think of one area where your spouse has told you your expecting to much, and tell them your sorry for being so hard on them about it. Promise them you'll seek to understand, and assure them of your unconditional love.
WOW! WOW! WOW! Great stuff right?
Questions for you:
  • When you place high expectations on your spouse that they don't feel internally motivated to attain, what does that tell you about your self?
  • What are better ways to deal with these disconnects?

Thank you all so much for coming every day and doing this dare! I wait all day to see how your doing..and feel like everyday I'm learning something new about myself too. thanks for stopping by! love ya mean it! Stephanie

Yes, Stephanie, great stuff! It will make our marriage stronger...and I CERTAINLY NEED TO PRACTICE THIS ONE!

When I woke up this morning, I had this thought..."It isn't how wonderful I treat Carroll on Valentine's Day that is so important. It is how I treat him the other 364 days of the year that will make Valentine's Day so important."

those expectations get ya every time.

it's hard to let them go, but such freedom when you do.

i can tell sometimes when my relationships are strained it's because they have crept back in.

thanks for sharing this!

Both my husband and I have learned this lesson the hard way (and will continue to). It's hard not having expectations for somebody else like you have for yourself! Especially if you're the one that's the hardest on yourself.

Still working on it. Thanks, Stephanie!
