Getting our kitchens ready...

Is this room ready for the holidays? I was just thinking I should get in to my kitchen and get it ready for the holiday baking and cooking I am hoping to do this year...my cupboards and fridge and my oven needs a good cleaning...What are some of the things you do to prepare for the holidays in your kitchen? I would love to know for very selfish reasons...to get myself motivated for the BIG job!! Thanks for stopping by! Love ya mean it!Stephanie

Hi Steph! Love your kitchen! I really don't do anything different because I super use my kitchen ALL the time!! My oven could use a cleaning, but that is the flip of a switch. I think all I'll be doing is decorating....yummy....my favorite part! I love the idea of hanging small wreaths on some of the cabinets, so I'll probably make that happen.

Have a delightful weekend!
Love and hugs,
Becky

My kitchen is what it is -- I've kind of made peace with the fact that, proportionate to the rest of the house, it's pretty dinky. BUT! I make the most of it and always try to have it as "accessorized" as the rest of the house and decorated for the holiday just as much as any other room. People inevitably end up in the kitchen anyway (no matter HOW small it is!) so I try to make it as warm, pretty and welcoming as the rest of the house. If that's your kitchen in the picture -- it's a beauty! :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

I always go through the spices and pitch the too old stuff, making a list so I can replenish what I use with fresh. And about twice a year I go through my drawers and cabinets, kind of reorganizing as I go and getting rid of things I haven't used in over a year. I then super clean the countertops and I'm ready to go.

Sooo, that's what I do to get ready for holiday cooking.

Great kitchen by the way. I think I have that picture, torn out of a mag and in the "dream kitchen" category.
