Jute flowers with pearls...

OK its weird...maybe a little cabin fever with the combo of kids everywhere but I was in one of those moods where something had to be done with my mind and fingers..and this is what happen...nothing professional just something to stop the thoughts and calm my heart..

I went into the Whispering Creek House office and pulled this stuff out not knowing what I would make entirely...

And I grabbed up the jute.....

tied a knot on the end..

Started wrapping it around it self....

glued the end piece to the back...

put some hot glue on the card stock.....

Cut closely to the underside of the flower....

And made these..the big one is made from canvas....there..heart at peace and I stayed away from the chocolate...aahhh..Thanks for stopping by! Love ya! Mean it! Stephanie

Naps and Mazes at Barnes and Nobel..

Thank you all for your kind anniversary thoughts and wishes for Danny and I.. your all so wonderful! So, we did have a great day together.. although every year we wonder Why? Why?did we get married after Christmas and before New Years? WE DON'T HAVE ANY MONEY LEFT!! I'm chuckling here..Because what can we do...so we usually take our gift cards and have a blast with other peoples money..we love you all for these gift cards!! See? Its the gift that keeps giving...We went to our favorite place and sat there in pure bliss for hours..Barnes and Noble..Danny grabs his books and finds a couch and -no lie- promptly takes a nap in the chair and reads books on trig and calculus..I'm thinking no wonder..cuz just thinking about math makes my brain fall asleep in rebellion..however, I would love to see what I look like on their security cameras as I dive up and down the aisles looking for any and all books of interest..it must look like a video game or a rat in a maze... I found some goodies though.. like the magazine above..It is a new one called Life Beautiful..it is a faith based mag with great pictures and articles and No advertisement..Check it out. It is a great price at $4.95.. This Doodles and Scribbles book is for my younger kids (and secretly for me) because I found a similar one at Starbucks that I really wanted (for me)but was so stingy that day I didn't get it..So this one was on the bargin pile for $7.99 at Barnes and Nobel..I have to tell you this book is great for creative people and stressed out moms here is why: Creative people sometimes have days that are Slump days..we temporarily lose our creativity and to get going it is good to doodle..it is very good for your brain as it gets the right side and left side working together. And it is good for moms two fold or more..it helps bored kids..it helps you hang with your kids and creates talking time especially for boys..they talk more when there hands are busy and they don't have to make eye contact..I went to school for pastoral care and learned many things..this was amazing to me..

This is a page I copied out of the book for Ella..she really loves this because she can doodle and be creative and tell a story of her own without bossy brothers and sister..it is good for ownership and creativity..

Christmas reflection..

Hello there! Wow seems like forever since I posted...I thought I would show our Christmas table...I didn't get alot of pictures this year..my camera was acting up and forgot to take it on Christmas day over to my wonderful in laws house! oh well...

Christmas Eve was a sunny day indeed..as you can see in the picture..it was quiet and serene around the property and there was just a fuzz of frozen dew on the grass..

We just a nice dinner with our kids where I took the opportunity to teach some manners much to my kids chagrin..I told them there wives and husbands would appreciate me in the years to come and let it go....hey I'm trying....

it seems like all the prepping and cooking and baking takes a month and then its all over and I sit down and grieve because its another Christmas I'm sorry that is over and I'm watching my kids grow and feeling like its all going to fast..I am feeling blessed and glad I can even sit up and enjoy it with them...

We have had alot of changes this year of 2009...and like many people feel a little bit in wonder of what is to come next..

But, I can tell you one thing..this handsome man of mine and I are having our 19 year anniversary next week and I am thinking its gonna be another good year...together..with our kids loving each other even more..Thanks for stopping by! baking away the day..

Well, today has been a busy day!! It was busy as I made the little cuties above (with Camalee's help) for my brother's and sister's families..

Dipped marshmallows for hot cocoa...with sprinkles, crushed candy cane,and more sprinkles we manage to get everyone a bag..

Camalee had so much fun making these..so easy...and we even made a couple with mini gingerbread men!

Each bag carried hot cocoa, dipped marshmallows, chocolate chip pumpkin bread, and candy canes..hope they like it!

Yummy chocolate chip pumpkin bread..my neighbors are getting some too..Hope you are all enjoying this week..I am thinking on how blessed I am..there are many people without work and even homes and here I am able to bake, have a warm home, clothes and even a bed to sleep in..My prayers are for each of us this season...times have been tough as we have all had to adjust to the economy..and with fiances comes many other worries..but I marvel at how each day we are once again provided for..God has been good to me..to my family and I hope you all feel as blessed as I do today....Thanks for stopping by! Tears in my eyes....

Look at this! Is is not so lovely? My fourteen year old son Carlin brought it home last night for me! He made it at school ! FOR ME!!!! Oh it is so lovely!!!!! I Love You Son!

I made these today!

That is right! Today I spent the day at Shelly's and we made our girls barrettes...It was so much fun!

We used different silks and materials to make the petals and sewed and glued all day...

A fancy brooch for me... Camalee was intimidated by the feathers...oh well..I like it!

Miss Camalee modeling the biggest flower I made today..She is wearing it tonight to her Christmas concert...

Soothing White Christmas...

Just showing you a part of my dinning room..the light was very dim because I don't have any light in there yet..I am patiently waiting for the perfect chandy...and I did take this in the early morn too...

Kinda like the all white..this is for Christmas..so something calm and relaxing...
