Day 12
Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others-Philippians 2:4
love lets the other win
"The Bible applies to us in one sentence summary statement: "Have this attitude in yourselves which was also Christ Jesus" (Philippians 2:5)-the attitude of williness, flexibility, and humble submission. It means laying down for the good of others what you have the right to claim for yourself."
This speaks for itself..continue on to the dare!
Today's dare
Demonstrate love by willingly choosing to give in to an area of disagreement between you and your spouse. Tell them you are putting their preference first.
Questions for you:
- What issue did you choose?
- What did giving in cost you?
- How will this help you in the future?
Thanks for stopping by! love ya mean it! Stephanie

I already know how to answer this Dare #12! Our faithful Border Collie of 14 years passed away several days ago now. I had made up my mind a while back that when she died I didn't want any more dogs... N.O.N.E. So...Wilma passed and a day or two later Carroll and I were talking and I EMPHATICALLY stated, "I DO NOT want another dog!" Carroll just simply said, "Okay". That's just the way he is...'love lets the other win'. The next morning when I went to pray, the Lord pricked my heart...reminding me of how Carroll's countenance had fallen when I made my emphatic statement. It was then that I realized that I had never even given him an opportunity to express how he felt. I went to him that evening when he got in from work and told him that I was sorry for the way I had acted and asked him what his thoughts and feelings were. He wants another dog. How could I not put his preference first? The end result is that we will get a puppy late spring or early summer.
Giving in cost me to humble myself and ask him to forgive me. The joy that came from that act was Heaven sent.
This will help me in the future to not be so emphatic about what I want without ever considering his feelings.
Stephanie, just wanted to say thank you again for the time you take to sponsor this dare! There is a whole lot of love and appreciation going on around here that wasn't two weeks ago! Love ya! Mean it! Dianna :)
I gave my guy what he really appreciates yesterday...a night at home where no one bothers him, we just let him do his thing. Especially if theres a Bball game on...which there was! I passed through the room a few times and didn't say a word...he loves that!!! This new one will be TOUGH tho!
Popping back here just long enough to mention that I did get Dare #11 done yesterday. He enjoyed what I chose to do for him...;)
And, I also wanted to mention that the day we were supposed to pick up something for our hubby, I wasn't able to get out and stated that I would take care of it when I did get out. I was out Tuesday of this week and I did pick up something for him that he wanted but wouldn't spend the money on it for himself! He was a happy camper!
