Gerber daisies..one of my favorite flowers for an event like this! Screams fun to me!

The table setting..with no money.. I think it looks good! The branches with clipped on butterflies and flowers...

This table was for the first night's special meal made by some of the moms of the girls..so nice..

A sticky project!

I'm off on another project...some friends of mine and I are hosting a "girls night " for my daughter and 16 other girls who are 7th and 8th graders in our church....the theme is friendship and we plan to have fun ,fun, fun! I bought myself some new jammies and plan to spend the night not sleeping, doing crafts and talking about what it really means to be a friend..I'm in charge of decorating..with no money... for real..but that's part of the fun! I will post all the things I did... check out one of my projects...

Yeah, this is a string lantern...cool right?

A close, blurry photo... but, you get the idea....

All it takes is a balloon, glue and string....

And, here it is! I am going to paint it tomorrow...there are three total. I will post the final results later! Thanks for stopping by! Love ya mean it! Stephanie

and and and.....

Only the best for barbie here! These are the twins.... Angelina and Flower..they are playing mermaids and Ella is there to supervise..for hours..it was great. Angelina likes playing in the water a lot and she likes painting and pink is her favorite color. And Flower she likes when a storm comes she likes to have candles and likes macaroni and cheese and she likes playing ballerina and and princesses...and the craziest thing they have done is play warehouse... which I gather is like a fashion show..they do their hair and get dressed up...because according to Annalise, who is the fashion barbie that is the thing to do..but Starsong, who is an Olympic barbie loves to do cartwheels and sing...I think at the same time..I'm typing as Ella is telling me the history of her darlings..so that's pretty much what the "girls" like to do..sound like they have an exciting life...it really makes me think of how adventurous we are as little girls and how we forget to be so in our daily lives..good thing for little girls who remind us to keep adventure in our hearts. Also, Sparklingblossom, who is another barbie, gets her name for wearing sparkly pants...hmm a girl could use a good pair of sparkly pants don't ya think? Splarkingblossom is the gal laying on her tummy in the picture... I wonder if it all just got to be to much? Ella says "Can I go now?" Um, I guess..have a great day and dont forget to be adventrous! thanks for stopping by! love ya mean it!Stephanie

Smiling at time....

One night a long time ago when I was a seventeen year old girl..I sat in this booth at a Shari's restaurant..eating a strawberry shortcake with my friend Gwen when the most gorgeous man alive walked in and sat across the way.....
He walked in with Gwen's boyfriend Darren...I was trying to act all cool and collected and was simply dying to meet him when we were invited over to sit with them....the rest is a love story... I married that gorgeous man almost 20 years ago! I went there the other night with my sisters and realized that it would be such a great story for my kids if they could see the place where it all began...and memories just flooded back...it was the best night and it changed everything for me when I met the most gorgeous man alive....I just had to sit in this and realize we have been so blessed and to think it started here! It just makes me smile! anyway..hope you have the best Monday..what are your plans today? thanks for stopping by..love ya mean it! Stephanie

oh sunny days where art thou?

Hey you all! (in my best southern drawl..as I miss the sun and have resorted to talking this way to feel like the sun will come my way again...hmm) I have been missing yooooooooou! The weather here has been sooooo rainy and I'm so bummed out because we had such great plans for spring break.... unfortunately, because of torrents of rain... the plans were vetoed and we had to let them go..for now...anyhoo,we had dirt brought in and we are doing a little curb appeal finally after living here for a couple years and I was so excited.... but because it rained ...we where knee deep in mud instead of dusty dirt... what else is there to to but to take a field trip to get inspired while we wait for it to dry up.. yeah...we are still waiting...up above is some great colors for pots...not my style but love them all the same... bricks on a pallet...

I so enjoyed taking these photos..and was inspired by the shapes and colors of even the simplest things like the edge pieces you see here above....

oh gimme some of these great barrels..rust and all...

Rocks anyone? Who says diamonds are a girls best friend? Ok maybe...the are...heheeee

This year will be our first year doing the garden thing..I'm so nervous but excited! I'm 37 for crying out loud! I need to try a new thing right?
In the meantime... here's to hoping the sun will finally come out and I can start to tackle that dirt! Can't hardly wait! Thanks for stopping by! love ya mean it! Stephanie
